Murray Grant

Murray is a retired senior private equity professional with approaching forty years of direct and funds investment experience across multiple sectors in both developed and emerging markets. He was a founding partner at Actis LLP and after that Managing Director at CDC Group plc responsible for fund investments. His private equity career began with 3i Group plc.

Murray read Engineering at Edinburgh University and spent four years working on large infrastructure projects from Papua New Guinea to Kenya before studying for an MBA from London Business School and then joining 3i.

Murray currently advises a Hong Kong based family office and sits on a number of their investment boards. He is still investing in the European early-stage market. Murray also serves on the boards of A P Moller Capital, Brait PLC, and EA Infrastructure Platform Ltd. He is an Independent Trustee of Actis Acts, a registered charity whose remit is to invest in social enterprises alongside Actis investments. He brings significant board-level, investment, and stakeholder experience with Africa a particular focus. Murray is married with two daughters and lives in the UK.
