Zara Skinmore
Zara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience leading finance, operations and people functions across a diverse range of organisations. After training and qualifying with Baker Tilly, one of the UK’s top ten accountancy firms, Zara spent seven years in practice managing her own team and a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.
Her first industry role was with Hanover Aviation, a UK air freight broker specialising in humanitarian aid logistics. Working closely with organisations including the Red Cross, the Department for International Development (DFID) and government agencies, Zara travelled extensively to countries affected by conflict and natural disasters, gaining first-hand insight into international humanitarian operations and the complex commercial and logistical challenges they present.
Throughout her career, Zara has held senior executive positions responsible not only for finance, but also for human resources, operational management and corporate governance. She has successfully led organisational growth, business transformation, strategic planning, performance management, recruitment, talent development, remuneration frameworks, and board-level decision making. Her commercial approach combines strong financial discipline with a deep understanding of how people, culture and operational excellence drive long-term business success.
Zara has worked across a wide range of sectors including strategic intelligence, charities, hospitality, aviation, logistics, property, and professional services. At Herminius, she oversees the firm’s finance, HR and operational functions, working closely with the Board to support the company’s strategic growth, develop its people, strengthen governance, and ensure the business continues to operate efficiently and sustainably.
